Is it works on ps4??
Does this work with the PS4 pro with all 12tb
At what temperature of the disk the active fan cooling turns on?
What about drive reliability? And for archival should I still consider a RAID?
is the white LED always onor can it be toggled? because mine never turned on and is off since i have the drive
Hello was wondering if you had any problems using it on your xbox one
Does this drive have the same specs and speed as the 2TB model? I am looking to buy that one off Amazon (US) now.
The model number is: WDBA2W0020BBKWESN
Please check that specific model and get back to me.
why is it being branded as a xbox hard drive only? seeing as it seems good on pc to?
How were temperatures?
Any info on the noise of the drive would have been nice.
this did NOT help me…………….But thx !
Good video mate. Greetings from Indonesia
apparently someone on amazon cut them open to see the internals, and theyre well rated SATA drives for long external 24/7 use. That+ a warranty account i already have for 3 other drives makes it easier logging into the same account NGL. Got on sale for 180$ 8tb. There are rare occasions when the laptop fans are on low/auto just for movie time etc….and the HDD starts doing a little audible activity. But if yo mount it with the stand they make way less noise and im assuming the way the HDD are supposed to be mounted anyways Like a server rack. When gaming+laptop fans max youll never hear it, as well as wearing headphones. If i was using speakers for "movie time" i doubt id hear it as well. My speeds were 255-260 Mb/s, In transfers between my WD m.2 included in laptop. Both ways. There were times where it would drop to 245 writing to the m.2 but it also jumped as high as the peaks were both ways. DL….i dont have gigabit or 10gig……to test true installs/writes…..so what i did was install a game from steam with 300 megabit/ 46mb/s and tried doing file transfers both ways at the same time and it held up really well as far as that goes. Load times seem damn near negligible in the various games i removed from the 1tb nvme onto the game drive. The hunter call of the wild, Nioh, a few hack n slashers etc some single player sandboxes fallout rage mad max. They all seemed to have instant load times. Atm im currently testing its performance with Warzone on it, vs warzone on the nvme. I love this thing it enables me to install my collection all the trilogies/series witcher, bioshock, dark souls, batman series, etc. The streaming platforms Arent there yet once the new consoles come into play and wifi6 is more standardized who knows perhaps sony/nvidia/microsoft will really bring it home with their services and lul stadia. I wonder if theyll just make a proprietary dongle respectively that is usb/c or eventually thunderbolt/usb4 capable for aiding in the streaming of games/libraries.
Why so slow though?
Are you Xbox or PS4
would you put your PC games on this? I'm thinking my older games I don't play that much.
I can almost feel my Xbone recoiling in disgust from the next room! Seriously, what were they thinking with this? If you want gamers to buy your stuff to use with our consoles, make them look good next to them. I'm not saying that looks are the be-all and end-all, but have WD never met a gamer? Do they not know how picky we can be?! There's a reason people like to show off their set-ups, can't see this getting on many shelves.
And yeah, have to agree with another poster, 12TB seems like an awful lot of room, you've got to be installing a hell of a lot of big titles to fill that.
I do appreciate the review though. 😊
thanks for this, i just bought a different 2tb externl for Ps4. this is interesting to see. theres a ps4 edition as well. i think 12tb is probably overkill. 5 or 8 should be enough.
Hi Dave! What happened “Hello internet world?”
12TB? That is a lot of space! It does have a great design, the price is pretty fair as well. I can probably store all of my DVD's on this drive! LOL
Thank you so much Dave for reviewing this, Amazon (in the US) has them on sale for about $100 for the 8tb model and was wondering how it was. Great timing!
Looks like a good drive. Thanks Dave.
end of the day, it's just a standard 12tb SATA hard drive 7200rpm in a plastic casing.
Do you think this will be compatible with the new xbox that comes out this year? so i don't buy it just to never use it again after this year haha.
Good
